What is Clonazepam Novumgen 2 mg?
Clonazepam enhances the effect of the calming chemical GABA. It is used for epilepsy and may also be prescribed for muscle spasms or panic disorder.
Use only as prescribed for you. The strength printed on the box is not a recommended dose; follow your own prescription and the leaflet supplied with your medicine.

Take tablets with water, with or without food. Your prescriber decides whether to use one daily dose or divided doses. For epilepsy or muscle spasms, the dose may be increased gradually.
Before taking it
Treatment length depends on the condition: epilepsy treatment may be long term, while other uses need regular review. Older people and those with kidney, liver or breathing problems may need a different dose.
- Do not stop suddenly after regular use. A prescriber may need to reduce the dose gradually.
- Avoid alcohol and do not drive if sleepy. Dependence can develop.
Tell your doctor or pharmacist about other medicines, health conditions, pregnancy or breastfeeding before treatment.
Other medicines and interactions
Other epilepsy medicines, antidepressants, antipsychotics and sedating medicines can interact. Give your pharmacist a complete list of medicines and supplements.
Possible side effects
Daytime drowsiness is a common side effect.
This is a short overview, not a full list. Read your pack’s patient leaflet and speak to a pharmacist about any concerns.
Common questions
Why is it in Anxiety support?
Clonazepam may be prescribed for panic disorder, as well as epilepsy and other conditions. Placement here does not mean it is suitable for every type of anxiety.
What if I miss a dose?
Take it when remembered unless the next dose is nearly due; then skip it. Never take an extra dose to catch up. Do not stop treatment without medical advice.
